Trantas Dots.

Trantas dots is found in VKC (vernal keratoconjunctivitis)  It is characterized by symptoms consisting of severe itching, photophobia, foreign body sensation, mucous discharge, blepharospasm, and blurring of vision. It is typically bilateral but may be asymmetric in nature. It is mostly but not always seasonal.

VKC is thought to be an allergic disorder in which IgE mediated mechanism play a role. Such patients often give family history of other atopic diseases such as hay fever, asthma or eczema. Presents in a younger age group compared to AKC, more common in boys.

Treatment is usually with topical steroids and mast cell stabilisers.
